Beyonce Knowles ka fituar çmimin kryesor në MTV Video Music Awards që u mbajt të dielën mbrëma në New York.
Ceremonia e cila filloi me homazhe për ikonën e ndjerë të muzikës pop, Michael Jackson, ishte një natë e madhe edhe për këngëtaren 19-vjeçare Tayler Swift, e cila fitoi çmimin për videon më të mirë nga femrat.
